Washington, D.C. (November 9, 2005) – As Americans begin to prepare holiday meals this fall and winter, many will be cooking outside on gas grills. “Interest in winter grilling is growing,” said Randy Chitty, chairman of the Propane Education & Research Council’s Homeowner Subcommittee. “Americans love the ease, interesting flavors and entertainment aspects of grilling, all of which play an important role when preparing a holiday feast.”

According to the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (HPBA), 85 percent of U.S. families have a barbecue grill and 60 percent of grill owners cook out year round. In addition to creating unique flavor, grilling holiday dishes can free up more space for items consumers might prefer to cook inside.
